We are looking for a Project Manager for Community Mobilizing in Beirut to join our dedicated team in Lebanon starting 1st of January 2018.
Our offer
We offer an attractive position with responsibilities for a minimum of two years in a growing organization. We also offer participation in qualification and professional development courses (among others, at forumZFD's Academy for Conflict Transformation), a project-based preparation, regular coaching and, where appropriate, participation in a language course. As the position is based on the German Development Aid Workers Act (EhfG), it is restricted to citizens of the EU and Switzerland. The position is renumerated according to the provisions of this law, including comprehensive social security benefits and financial reintegration assistance upon return.
Working for forumZFD, you will be engaged within the innovative field of conflict transformation and peacebuilding through contributing your ideas and skills.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
As a project manager of the Future Together Now II Project, you will contribute to the implementation and further development of the forumZFD programme in Lebanon, above all within the community mobilizing programme area. Together with a local colleague you will lead a German-Lebanese team of five employees, tasked with process-oriented planning and implementation of the Future Together Now II project in partnership 5 local NGO which work with local communities and refugees, primarily in Tripoli and the Bekaa plains. You will moreover participate in the expert exchange and strategic networking with local actors and above all the partner organisations.
The main tasks include:
-·Responsible for planning and supporting project implementation (incl. administrative and financial tasks)
- Management of further development of the project concept, training measures on concepts of civil conflict transformation, and community mobilizing in close cooperation with the Capacity development team and the programme manager
- Responsible for the development of creative methods and tools based on project phases (Analysis, Community engagement, Strategy processes, Project management, Participatory decision making, Project implementation, and Evaluation) in close cooperation with the partner organisation and the project team
- Management of project documentation, internal knowledge-management processes and PM&E system
- Contact maintenance and regular partner visits to develop relations with relevant stakeholders
- Implementation of conflict-sensitive project planning, forumZFD's internal monitoring system and reporting
- Development of structures and networks to safeguard the project's sustainability
- Involvement in effective presentation to the public of the programme area of community mobilizing and conceptual development of the public relations work And other tasks as agreed with the Head of Programme.

Proven professional experience in conflict transformation, community mobilizing and/or development cooperation abroad

Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten

Your profile:
- Proven professional experience in conflict transformation, community mobilizing and/or development cooperation abroad
- Overseas experience in the Middle East (preferably with knowledge of the political and confessional fragmentation in Lebanon)
- Ability to develop creative tools and methods based on the project phases, needs of the partners and the training cycle
- Sound consulting / mentoring skills and many years of experience in project management, implementing personal development plans and organisation development
- Experience in team leadership and team building, along with enthusiasm for supporting participatory processes
- Strong capacity for strategic and conceptual thinking as well as maintaining knowledge management
- Experience in civil society work, cooperating with CBO, initiatives and NGOs in an intercultural context as well as networking
- Proven intercultural skills in addition to communication and team skills as well as physical and mental resilience
- Very good proficiency in English, basic knowledge of Arabic languages (preferable)
- Sound IT skills (Office applications)
- Driving licence and experience
- EU citizenship is required for this position.
